On this day in 1912, Ann Gregory was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Today, July 25th, we honor the birthday of Ann Gregory, the remarkable woman who pioneered change on and off the golf course.
Having lost her family and subjected to living in racist suppression, Ann Gregory experienced hardship early in life. Her sense of justice and perseverance prevailed, and her legacy is enduring. While Ann's story has been untold widely, she is gaining more and more recognition for her extraordinary achievements as an athlete and civil rights advocate, pursuits that she championed until her death in 1990.
Playing Through salutes our heroine, Ann Gregory, in honor of her birthday.
